Come on, there has to be some other salt affected Brick owners out there 700 1991

On my 91 740 turbo wagon the stud/nut plate that holds the top of the rear coil spring to the rear subframe just spins. It was tight then pop it's loose. I suspect the spot welded threaded nut plate that the stud threads into has popped it's spot welds allowing it to spin. I can't tighten or loosen it.
Pretty tough place to get into with the spring in place. There is zero access to the nut plate, it's inside the frame. I looked through one of the rubber plug ports and see some rust but the nut plate is completely unaccessable. I may be able to split the nut with a long chisel but I will still need to deal with the loose nut plate. these things usually end up as nightmares with a less than satisfying results.
Anyone run into this before?

Pissed at all the road salt here
