Volvo approved method to read OBD codes 200 1993

There should be an black connector somewhere in the engine room, the size of about 3 by 2 cm, with a couple of wires coming out underneath, with a cap on it.
Remove that cap from the diagnostic connector, the letter A should be on the connector. In the cap removed is a wire, plug the wire in to terminal #2, turn key to position 2 (key on, engine off) push the button next to the letter A for 2 seconds.Watch the redlight, it will flash out a 3 digit code, there will be a slight pause between the numbers (example:1-2-1 = flash, pause, flash, flash, pause, flash). After the 3 digit code has been displayed press the button again, to retrieve other codes, repeat until codes repeat themselves to make sure you read all of them. The code 1-1-1 is no codes. Also you will have to do the same process for terminal #6 (#2 and #6 are fuel and ignition systems).
