Daughter's '83 245 idles fast with replacement air control valve, but no power in drive. 200 1983

Hello,
I hope your problem is solved, but if not what is a
bad idle hunt? And how did you know it was bad to begin with.

Have you unplugged your Air Mass Meter (while the car is off)
and see if it runs better then with it plugged? (also have the
car off when you re-plug it in).

I don't know if the high idle is because of a cut/split in the
intank pump line? I think the cut/split (if one) may be the
cause of the stalls at less than a full tank of fuel.

But, do please let us know when you solve this issue.

Thanks,
Joseph in New Mexico
