Should I keep it or sale it? 200 1980

So, I took the 240 to Jim Long's in Hillsboro, Tn. They are from what I hear, the Volvo guru's in the Southeast, has a huge yard. I made a list of all the issues, in detail.
I let him inspect the car, which he was kind enough not to charge me. He says the K-tronic is shot, and they always upgrade to the newer fuel system as they are more reliable. Quoted me $2000! I only paid $1500, new tires $300, misc parts, I have $1900 invested.Says I could have $4000 just upfront. Not sure if I should cut my losses, I have it listed on CL for $1200 and a potential buyer tonight, or source the parts, do the work myself. Pretty sure it will need a new tranny soon (jumps in reverse, slight slip every so often), sourced for about $300-400, not to mention the electrical work (gauges not functioning). The PO rigged so much, I'll have to undo the damage. the one thing it has going for it, the car is rust free, pans and all. But the roof is Bondo'd from the roof rack, and it needs a complete redo, which I found a friend who will do it for $300. So I'm not sure whether to source the parts, work on it little by little, or just part ways, find a newer, better shape 240. I love the body style, and apparently all the potential buyers do too. Guy's, offer me some insight. I'm pretty technically inclined, did all the work on my Ducati S4, build computers etc.
