Due to the paucity of Volvo mechanics on the big Island Hawaii, I’m the best I’ve got but without your years of skills, knowledge & tricks I’d be driving a Jap wagon. I think my wife would rather lose me than her 240 wagon, it is bordering on a worship relationship with this car. THANK YOU FOR ALL OF YOUR HELP!
Since my wife has taken my key back leaving me with my pick up, I’m looking for a Volvo for myself.
Is it safe to say, after ’95 when Volvo went to either front wheel drive or all wheel drive, the desirability diminished? Is this due to loss in durability and or increased maintenance, not as friendly to work on yourself? I make this judgment via the abundance of ’96 & later Volvos for sale where I live for cheap, and the scarcity of pre ‘96’s
I’ve located a suitable ’95 940 945 turbo on my island as is the norm here it needs many little items fixed, the usual, A/C not working, both rear doors do not unlatch from outside handles, tail lights cooked from sun, front cam oil seal leaking profusely, normal only one window goes up & down, fortunately it is the drivers window, about 225,000 miles engine trans Steering & brakes seem very functional. So should I steer away from the front drivers or is my thinking stinking? Buy that ‘95 940 Bill You’ll be happy with it.
