more on roof mounted racks 120-130

I bought a set of Thule brackets for our old Maxima. These were not gutter mounted, they sat on the sheet metal of the roof. The load consisted of 2 kayaks, about a 100 pounds between them and a Thule catrrier filled with bulky camping gear. When everything came off I had 2 nice dents where the brackets once sat. These are for sale.

Meanwhile, after reading patrick's thread I realized I should have mentioned that I use 3 pair of the Thule gutter mounted brackets as well. For a quick platform I attached a few strips of mahogany with hardware store u bolts perpendicular to the load bars. Doesn't look bad but i do have a more sophisticated plan in mind.
