242 GT Smog Test Fail 200 1980

PASS NEVADA SMOG TEST??? I have a 1980 242 GT. Runs and idles great(900-950). 21-22 MPG. Moved to Nevada and can't pass smog test. Idle and fast idle CO emission must be 2% or less each. My fast is 4.2% and idle is 8.1%. Do not want to mess with the hex head mixture adjustment screw in the fuel distributor since the car runs good (unless I have to, and I've not done it before). Does anyone have a suggestion on how to get the CO readings down just to pass the test like bypassing vacuum hoses, additives, other adjustments to the engine, etc? Appreciate any help I can get. Thanks.
