91 240 wagon wet floor!

Ok it rained pretty good last night and I have those plastic floor mats that catch everything like a cup so I get in this morning and there is water all over the drivers side floor! it is water not coolant i know that for sure. anyone know where I should start looking for leaks??? I called the previous owner but they siad it never happened to them but I find that hard to believe because it looks like there has been water on the carpet before. Help
