Before you go ripping off that preheat hose.... (Smog related) 200 1984

Hey guys.

I know I've been saying that preheat hose makes a great pinata and we should pull it off the car, but I just FAILED my smog inspection because it was missing.
The technician was extremely confused and 3 or 4 people expressed shock that it was just gone. Haha oops. Everything else passed right smack in the middle around 50% of what was allowed.
Luckily, I only have to smog it once (oh I'm drooling about a DOHC+turbo car now) when I transfer the car to me or to here. And they will do a free re-test within 14 days.

Does anyone know where I can buy the hose? It's 2" inside diameter stretchy metal flex tube and I need about 3 or 4 feet. The hoses I found at Kragen are only 18 inches long and that won't reach at all. Dryer tubing doesn't seem to come in this size.

In the mean time, is there a TSB or anything that would override the requirement for a preheat hose?

Happy Bricking
