A few years ago, I bought a 740 with 135k on it. When I went to check the plugs, one of the plug wires broke off! There was a piece of the wire about the size of a pea burned away where the wire was making contact with the head. All the wires were stiff and brittle.

BTW the car was a pig - we hot rid of it after 6 months or so.
