Best method for replacing window lift ? 140-160

Hello All,

I should have known that replacing the window scrapers in my 71 142E would be like opening a can of worms.

The right side scraper replacement went well. The left side window has a rusted out window lift. Some people call the lift a tomahawk because of its shape. Planetman got a hold of a new one for me.

My questions, what ways have people used to separate the window lift from the window. Also I would like to know how people handled the replacement strip of rubber that fits in the window grove of the lift. What is best method to insert glass into window lift grove?

Thanks
