Fixing windshield wiper switch 200

We are having a problem with the low setting of our windshield wipers on the 1989 240 with 140k miles. It sometimes works but most of the time a little pressure down on the wiper switch makes it work. This tells me the switch isn't making proper contact. So I took out the switch only to find that the assembly is riveted together. Is it possible to take the switch apart and get it back together again? A new switch on IPD is $82 but if I could get the switch apart I know I could just solder a small piece of copper inside so the low setting makes the proper contact.

I think I might just drill out the rivets and replace with nuts and bolts so I can fix it.

Or... can I swap 2 wires so the high and low settings are reversed? I never use the high setting so having intermittant and low would be better than only having intermittant and high available.
