Since the same tranny with OD uses motor oil, I would say whatever you want in the tranny is OK.
There is not that much difference between 80 and 90 gear oil.
I use DOT5 in both the brake and the clutch, have done so for 25 years and find that
the rubber components last over 15 years with it. I have seen NO corrosion in either system
since changing over. But if you are going to change you need to make sure the system is
clean and contains no other kind of brake fluid. They are not compatible.
