Oil Pump Questions 140-160

Everyone,

As I mentioned in a previous post, I have been working on a B20 to put into my 145. I currently have it out of the car and I am working on cleaning it, switching heads, and replacing various seals to make sure it will be leak free. I have also been thinking about putting in a new clutch and new oil pump while I have the engine out. While I have not had a chance to inspect the pump, the oil pressure in the engine appeared fine when it was running in my donor car (it was equipped with a pressure gauge). Is it worth the money buying a new pump just to be safe? Or are these pumps reliable enough that I should save my $$$? Also, I see that IPD sells an HD spring and reinforcing ring for the pump...has anyone purchased these and are they worth putting on an old pump. As always, thanks for the advice!

Brian
