warm start problem 200 1982

Have read many of the "hot start" threads and do not find anything in the FAQ's. Car fires up normal first thing...drive for any distance until it warms up...shut down run the errand and when I come back to it, it resists starting. Turns over normal and if I stand on the gas pedal she will fire right up? On my carbureted land cruiser I have a similar problem and ascribe to an ill tuned carb. On the DL, no carb so am stumped? Any ideas welcome!
