Strut Insert Change On the Ol' 240 200 1993

Strut nut in my 93 240 is larger than the 15/16ths that was in my V70. Can anyone tell me what size it is. I will head to Sear's and buy a large wrench with an offset head that I will only use every couple of years.

Also, do you really need to take apart the ENTIRE hub assembly just to replace the insert and mount plate? I was studying this the other day (after I'd gotten the wheels off and didn't have correct size wrench!) and it looks to me like it could be done this way...

1. Jack up car and take off the tires
2. Loosen strut nut
3. Support hub and compress spring
4. Remove strut nut, the mount plate
5. Pull out the old strut
6. Reverse

Please let me know if my process engineering seems logical because it sure looks alot less time consuming.

Thanks,
Loose Moose
