Transmission mount problem 200 1981

So I gots me a 1981 245, Recently pulled the engine and tranny for a bearing job. Replaced the motor mounts and the tranny mounts with new ones from IPD.

Now when I try a 'spunky' takeoff from a dead stop I can feel the transmissions raising up and thunking under the center console. I crawled under the car and found just by hand I could lift the tranny up a wee bit. However when I try to tighten the nuts on the tranny mount they're about as tight as I can get them, any more torquing on em and I'll break...something, that im sure of.

Any ideas? Would using some washers as spacers for the nuts work? Anyone else have this problem?

Thanks much
