Missing when load is applied

I have 92 740, 139k miles, unknown service history. When cold it starts ok but does not like it when you try to drive away. Starts to miss severely. Put it in neutral and the car will rev up and clear up fine.
Seems like the same symtom when you clean engine at the car wash and get moisture in the ingnition.(i have not cleaned this engine)
So, do I start with cap and rotor, plugs etc or is there some other place to look.
Seems like secondary ignition but there seem to be so many fuel management gremlins i thought I would put it out there.

Thank you,
George
