Voltage Regulator? 140-160

Hi Everyone,
It seems my voltage regulator is going. It seems to work intermintently but more not. I had thought that on the 140's they were internal to the alternator, (so I replaced that), but still it reads a bad regulator. Sooo, I get out my green book and see that it is supposed to have one on the inner fender behind the headlight. Ah, is that the box on the left side behind the headlight? Mine looks aftermarket, (maybe replaced by the previous owner?)
Does anyone have one? ...that works?
I have a volt guage hooked up and is been reading "0" most of the time, but everynow and then it jumps up to a good reading.
I usually drive my 140 on some nice days during the winter, but Yeay for Spring and nicer weather.
Thanks,
CU
