Late Model Radio Question 200 1993

This is a minor issue so I apologize for distracting everyone from more important concerns here. I replaced the stock Volvo cassette radio in my '92 245 some time ago - I can't remember the model number, but it's the standard late model upper console cassette radio. So for the last 5 years or so it just sat in a box. This weekend I re-installed it into my '93 244 because the aftermarket radio that was in that car was a piece of garbage. The OEM radio works great and sounds good, but at night only the digital display, the cassette ff/rew bezel and the radio station memory numbers light up. Basically only the digital display and the right side of the radio have that green glow. Is the left side supposed to illuminate as well? Might I have a burnt out bulb inside? It's been so long since I used it I can't remember. Thanks for the indulgence.
