Going ahead with the Fuel Filter... 200 1989

The'll be a good amount of cursing as you try and find the appropriate wrenches to fit on the "nut" stamped into the fuel filter shell.

That about sums up where the danger in this job lies. Success depends on having an effective counterhold for the banjo fittings. Makeshift pliers and adjustable wrenches can slip, and the casualty seems to be the nylon fuel lines. The impact gun solves the counterhold problem with inertia.

It is nice to have new washers, but often I re-use the old much the same way as you. I don't even bother to anneal them, just make them smooth once again, rubbing them on a couple grades of sandpaper lubed with kerosene or WD40. If nothing gets broken, and you can tighten the connections properly on good crush washers, it won't leak.
