76 245 electrical issue 200

Have a 76 245. Just got past no start issue in rain- replaced coil. Running fine except every once in a while, headlights will come on by themselves or refue to turn off. Have tried pulling fuse to shut off but that doesn't work either. Obviously there has been some rewiring prior to my ownership. So. I wind up pulling the battery cable. It happened again this morning, so I pulled the negative cable, went to work and after work, dead battery. I mean REALLY dead. Got a jump, started right up, kept running till I stopped at the store 20 min. later and REALLY dead battery again. Thing is, it doesn't seem like really dead battery. Jumped again, started up, drove home another 20 min. Dead battery. Put the trickle charger on it, 45 min later, interior light is dimly flickering to the hum of the charger, hit the key, Really dead battery. It's acting like something other than the battery is cutting out, but if I jump it, it blows past the problem and starts right up. Ideas?
