Tail light does not work but brake light does-bulb sensor relay good. 200 1991

Hi to all,

The subject above refers to a 1991 245. The left tail light does not work but the brake light does. They are both on the same bulb. There is no power to the tail light from the red wire that feeds them both unless the brake pedal is depressed. I swapped out the bulb sensor relay with a known good one and got the same result. Rule out the bulb sensor. I think.

The light worked fine until the sensor warning light came on. I expected a burned out bulb and found a really discolored burned out bulb. Does anyone know of anything that would interrupt the power to the tail light bulb and so discolor the bulb when it burns out yet allow the brake light to work?

Thanks,
Len K.
