Agreed. But keep in mind we're dealing with old cars which the old-timers may be more familiar with.

If you need a stereo from the 70's repaired would you take it to a tech who is familiar with the modern stuff? You are more likely to get a suggestion to scrap it than an admission of cluelessness. (Actually I think this happens with 240s when you take it to a dealer for servicing.)

RLudwick, for example, may be the go-to-guy if you have a 240 diesel.
