Bad oil cooler 900 1995

My son's 1995 944T had oil in the coolant reservoir. He had replaced the head gasket last year, and it would be quite uncommon for the head gasket to leak oil to the cooling system. The 1992+ turbo 700/900 have an oil cooler that uses engine coolant to cool the oil, and that is the only other place the oil could be coming from. So, we replaced the oil cooler. Now there is no more engine oil in the coolant reservoir.

In summary, if you have a turbo with the late style oil cooler, and there is engine oil in the coolant reservoir, you may have a bad oil cooler.
