1976 244 DL is SUFFERING! All inquiries appreciated. 200 1976

Ok, so "Julius" is on my mind 24/7 now. Recently, I put too much oil in the engine, and drove it. The next day, it was smoking when I got downtown. Somehow, (thankfully) the oil cap was off, thus the excess oil was slung around the engine bay. It ran fine. I attempted to clean the oil off with a mildly damp sponge, drained to a normal level and the next day, it was skipping a cylinder. All spark plugs changed, checked all fuel injectors, new wires, new distributor, dist. rotor, vacuum lines checked and tightened, and good fuses its not running well, or idling, I'd say. It starts fine, idles high as can be, settles, sputters, stalls out when I get on the gas, but keeps idling. It actually drives well, no hesitation, hence my confusion. Any ideas would be swell beyond belief. My heart is dragging, and hoping I can save my boy.

Thanks,
-Taylor
