a dirt simple method for seal ring removal on a 240 fuel intank sender unit 200

yesterday i had occasion to replace and original fuel sender on a 1990 wagon.
the wiring connection had rusted away and off sometime ago.
the sealing ring was so rusted there was little for the bung tool to grab on to.

after futilely attempting to remove the seal ring the orthodox way i took a long flat blade screw driver inserted it in the small space between the tank lip and the seal ring and bent the ring inward.

the ring deformed inward effortlessly. a small pliers removes this deformed ring without effort.

doing it this way took no more than 30 seconds.

i strongly suggest anyway contemplating this repair use this method for ring removal
