740 with steering issues 700 1991

I already have the car back. The garage owner ended up not charging me for the re-diagnose (lost my ignition key though). This 740 actually has IPD poly cone bushings (put on at least 5 years ago) that appear to be in good shape, could they be binding if seats/shaft rusty? I spent a lot of time changing out struts, was very careful not to nick, properly seated struts in tubes and tightened down gland nuts correctly (hard to believe they are shifting) also tried to be sure I placed the springs back in their seats/rests the same way I found them. Replaced both struts and the complete strut bushing/bearing mount assemblies in same position as removed units & then took straight to alignment shop. BTW both ball joints were recent & looked good, replaced both sway bar links at same time as they were dry rotted. As I said previously the guy doing the alignments is fairly reputable, I replaced the outer tie-rod end at his recommendation and had him do the inner tie rod he thought was bad, so I guess I'll replace one or both ball joints if they even look worn (boots on these things, esp non-Volvo OEM disintegrate in months Chinese must be using cat/puppy skins in "rubber") also cleaning & oiling steering u-joint, flushing pwr steering fluid and then taking 740 to local European car specialist for a $75 full diagnostic go over. Thanks for the ideas, I will post the solution/problem when it's located.
