Carbed B20E Timing 140-160

Was it pinging on D-Jet? No, unless I filled up with "Regular" and really stomped on it. With mid-grade or a blend of regular and premium, no problem.

Does your HIF6's have BBB needles? Yes.

I've only checked the timing once briefly after I got the carbs balanced, and it seems that at 3500 rpm it advances to more than 35°: 40° maybe. But I have to check it again more carefully: first I have to get the temp gauge working again. :-(

If the distributor really turns out to be advancing too much, I'll swap in a known-good cast iron one I have as a spare in the trunk of the PV. It's snowing again, so I'll have to wait till that melts before I can get at the PV, which is still in winter storage. You get floods, we get snow - we all complain, no one listens. :-)
