'84 242 radio query 200 1984

I just bought an '84 242 DL, 45k miles (no rollback). The radio that the little old lady from Dallas had the dealership install in the lower dash shall we say, does not meet my musical needs (I have converted none of my music to casette and I can't find the ipod connection). I am thinking I can install in the upper dash but when I went to remove the storage box, removing the two screws behind the cover, there is 'something' holding it on the lower right corner. This car is absolutely pristeen inside so I didn't want to force anything...can anyone tell me what the attachment point is on that lower right corner? Also, there are no rear speakers and I assume they would have been installed originally in the rear deck. If I wanted to stay purist, does anyone have pictures or a link of the speaker covers and what size they would have been. Long post...sorry.
