platinum spark plugs? 200

Can I use platinum spark plugs in my non-turbo Brick (1986)?

I live in the San Francisco Bay area. Though the temperature here is moderate (40-70 'F), I drive on hills a lot.

My 1995 Toyota Corolla has always gotten 26 mpg. I changed to platinum spark plugs and now get 33 mpg! OEM plugs are copper, but now platinum is optional. NGK platinums cost only $.60 per plug more than copper! That said, I wonder if my mileage would improve with iridiums?
