Super High price for A/C hose 200 1993

I need the A/C hose from the compressor to the condenser (behind the radiator). I just replaced this same hose on wife's 89 740 and a new one cost $46.00. The same hose costs $186.00 from FCPGroton. Is it because 93 had metric threads at the end of the hose to the condenser?
I think I will have a new hose made locally and just use the metric end on the new hose. It can be made up here by the local A/C technicians.
