I must be doing somethin' wrong... 140-160

In South Adrica the maximum speed limit is 75 mph / 120 km/h. Our '71 144S had no trouble doing that with a full load going on holiday. And I mean really fully, no trailer. Us kids in the back with barely enough space to breath.

Here in New Zealand (brough my dad's car with me) the speed limits are 30 and 60 mph. No trouble pulling away at traffic lights leaving MR2's and Subarus behind while they wait for their turbos to spin up despite me having unbalanced untuned carbs. And mine has a BW35 so not the quickest either.

Anyway, my fuel consumption with bad carburettors is 20L per 100km. No idea how it converts, guess about 200 miles on a tank. That is mostly short distance drives.
