Removing Gas Tank Tips for 91 240 Wagon? 200 1991

I've got two wagons, one an 89 240 that has finally expired, and one a 91 wagon that runs well but has a leak near the top of the gas tank, and a sending unit that does not function.

I'm planning on removing the tank (and possibly sending unit if compatible) from the 89 wagon and putting it on the 91 wagon. The tank on the 89 wagon seems to be in good condition, though at the moment it is filled with some 7 month old fuel.

Could anyone guide me through the complete removal process with some tips/steps, or point me towards a good posting/online guide on this subject? I do have a Bentley's manual which I can consult as well, but thought I would ask here.

I have done some basic work on 240's, including electrical work/belts/water pump but never tackled a tank before, so the more advice on this I get the better off I'll be. Many thanks for any help you can provide.
