Dear Huskerdoo,

Hope you're well. Hoods are costly to ship, as their size - and fragility - means they have to be packed carefully and shipped by truck. Thus, prowling salvage yards is the most cost-effective way to find one.

Driver's seats can be shipped by common carrier, if the headrest is removed and placed on the seat. However, there's no need for this, unless the motors on your seat definitely have failed. That's rare. If the motors are in good shape, try to find replacement seat upholstery, and replace the worn-out leather.

While I've not replaced failed leather, those who have done this job, report that it is relatively straightforward. It costs way less to ship the skins, than it does to ship an entire seat.
