Pitfalls?
Yes, this is a dangerous job. I would not even attempt it if I were in your position. I would find alternate transportation as quickly as possible (neighbor, friend, bike, bus pass, new (cheap, old, dented, ugly colored) car. Just getting under the car is hell, and the great quantities of poisonous dusts and debris can and will choke away your intelligence quite quickly. If you doubt me, just ponder a moment about a ‘‘cultured‘‘ mechanic. Not all intelligent are cultured, and not all cultured are intelligent, but there is quite a degree of correlation to those idiots who care only about themselves and not of the world, and the lifestyle of which they lead.
If I were you, I would be happy. I would be happy that I would know enough to help myself. I would trouble and try only to remove the strife and misery from my path with that which men die from lacking, and win by attacking with, that strategic application to a cause.
So, stay out of the parking lot, and try to find a girl however plain with a nice little car... :) I think you‘ll end up a lot happier in the end.
