hesitates/jerks at low speed 10-20mph S90-V90 1998

Love this car but can’t afford to pay a dealer bill for major repairs if needed.
Need all your help experts.
1998 s90 158K miles hesitates to accelerate and loses power at low speed at around 10-20 mph but doesn’t stall. Same happens when slowing down around 20mph down to 10 mph. Jerky ride between 10 and 20 mph. Otherwise tranny shifts very smoothly no complaints. No problems at speed above 20mph or under 10mph
What should be checked?
