1993 940T compressor clutch question 900 1993

My 93 940T Wagon has a Seiko-Seiki SS-121DS5 compressor (part# 6841028). The clutch coil is drawing about 4.5A at 12V (~2.7 ohms), but from what I can tell, the compressor clutch coil driver IC, within the MCC (Manual Climate Control), is rated only to 1.5A.
Does any one know the valid range of coil resistances or currents for this compressor's clutch coil (part# 6848089)? This information might be in the Volvo Climate Unit Service Manual, but I don't have access to one. Thanks
