95 960 Fuel Door Hinge Replacement?? 900 1995

I am working replacing the hinge on the fuel door on my 95 960 sedan. I bought a new one from Volvo. Trouble is, I am looking at the new one and can't see how it holds on to the car.

The new one has four plastic pins on one side of the hinge, and larger knobs on the other side of the hinge, opposite each plastic pin. I am clear that the knobs go into the holes on the car, but what holds them in place? Do I have to push on the plastic pins to have them expand the knobs like a plaster/dry wall anchor?

Is there a second clip that needs to be inserted from the inside of the rear quarter panel?

Ideas or tips appreciated here as I don't want to break it when installing.
