Dropping 544 driver's door handle 444-544

My 63 driver's drooping door handle has finally given way and is now inoperative! I removed the mechanism and when looking at it I can't determine what the problem is. It is a rivited assembly and can't be disassembled. There does seem to be a little play when inserting and turning the door handle rod. I have observed in pictures of other 544's doors with drooping door handles, so I assume this to be a common problem, as is sprung trunk hatches. Anyone out there have a repair solution or source of replacement?
