1988 240 electrical question 200 1988

Okay, so I bought yet another Volvo yesterday (wife is gonna kill me, 5 in the driveway now). This one is a cherry 1988 dl with only 136k miles and has had Mobile one since the first oil change and all service documented too. A guy gave it to his daughter who lives in Atlanta, he lived some 50 miles away. Anyway she is moving and I was the lucky one.

She has had trouble for some time with it dying in rainy weather. The FPR has been replaced, and it has new bougicord wires, Idle Control Valve, bosch cap and rotor. She reports it will still do it. I haven't started looking yet but am wondering where to start. The "Mechanic" before said the wiring harness would have to be replaced (but couldn't say why). 1988 is too late for the failing harness isn't it?

Oh yeah and Art; the dimmer rheostat was the answer for my previous post about my 1991 with no interior lights!! Thanks

Any ideas and help would be appreciated for a starting point on the 1988!!
