91 240 pinion oil seal replacement 200

I recently bought a seal from NAPA to do this job as it is leaking gear oil. Thing is the illustrations in both my 240 Haynes manual and 740 Haynes manual make this seal to appear flatter then it actually is. Back quite a few years ago I remember replacing this seal on my 87 740 and I don't remember this seal looking quite as concave as the one I just bought. Can anybody enlighten me on this? I'd hate to take the whole back end of the drive shaft off and start digging out this seal if I don't have the correct one in the first place. Thank you for any input.
