I would not consider a turbo a starting point either. And the items you mentioned needing replacement are not necessarily simple and basic. At 190k miles, you are going to begin replacing many different parts that wear over time. It's not necessarily a bad thing, just that the parts wear out eventually. And often times the wear parts are not easy or simple replacement items. If you have limited income, it may not necessarily be a good thing.
