Timing Issues 200

While driving in what has become four weeks of rain the 88 240DL got sick. I opened the hood the see my beloved shaking violently. I shut it down knowing that it was putting unburned fuel in the cat and breaking the mounts. It looked like the timing belt had slipped for sure. It will not restart. The distributor cap looks like new inside. I pulled the covers and found the three index points correct. When trying to start, the engine shakes violently, spark is good, and if it was lack of fuel it wouldn't shake.
I see listing for the Ignition Box is the same for 85-88, but the number I have is 3517641 blue label Bosch while I found an 86 that started with 13 something that was in a yard but out of the rain. Would that work? I have LH2.2
Any and all ideas are most welcome. Keith
