drive shaft length 120-130

O.K. so I am working on a 1968 220 and have replaced the M40 with an M41 transmission. I was told that using the front section of an 1800 drive shaft would give me the correct length for the drive shaft. Well, no, that is not correct, or at least the front half of a drive shaft from a 1970 1800 does not work. My question - if I measure from the transmission flange to the rear end flange, that should be the measurement that a drive shaft shop needs - right! I had really hoped that the 1800 drive shaft would be the solution since I am leaving on a mission next Tuesday for a month. I had REALLY wanted to drive the Amazon to the Midsomer, but with the drive shaft issue won't be able to have it done in time either before I leave or after I get back... DRAT!!

Thanks

Kent
