Smell of gas in trunk after fill up 200 1986

Recently (past few months) I've been smelling gas in the trunk of my sedan after filling up the tank. On occasion I can smell the fumes in the cabin, but mostly in the trunk. No spillage, fuel cap secure, new (18 months old) fuel lines from in-tank pump and all clamps secure. Bung nut secure. The only think I could think of is the fuel filler hose from the fuel neck to the tank. Is there a hose that can or should be replaced after this many years of service?
Thanks in advance for any direction.
