steering rack 200

in the process of adjusting my wheel bearings I discovered that the steering rack is leaking. Perhaps this explains the play/shake in the steering wheel. I was going to try replacing with a JY unit. I believe that they are all interchangeable between the different power steering racks that went on 240s. The current one is a ZF, however, I'm wondering if it is original. Next to the fitting where the line attaches to the rack on the passenger side, there is a second, smaller tube that is not connected to anything. It is zip tied to the larger line. Is this something that should be connected depending on what type of rack I install? Should I be concerned about this?
