I'd go the cheap route and just have something welded up by your local shop. They sound like the sort of shop I go to.

After you have the car on the road for a while, you can consider something fancier. But, you won't. What they put together for you will be just fine.

That is the route I always take... just a muffler, skip the resonator.

If it's too loud, take it back and add a resonator.
