converting the AMM/ECU/ICU from 2.2 to 2.0- 86 into 83 and then 83 into 86. 200

I'm on the verge of parting out an 86 sedan. I want to convert my 83 to the 2.2 LH system by rewiring the AMM as I've read on here. But what about if I for some reason would like to continue to drive the 86 for a time or rather allow someone else to drive it after I've swapped out the parts I want to keep. Can I just do the same thing during the swap and rewire the 86 to accept the 83 AMM? Seems like it would work. Just thought maybe someone would tell me otherwise for some reason. Thanks.
