Stalling 700 1990

non-turbo

My 740 which the family loves runs like a sewing machine... 95% of the time. The problem is that for no discernible reason it will suddenly start to sputter and stall. I can usually eventually restart it and it will usually restart and drive off just fine... for a little while and then sputter and die again. There is no discernible rhythm or rhyme to it at all. It seems to almost act up at will.

We have replaced the injector relay, the Idle Air Valve, the TDC sensor, and tuned everything up like plugs and wires and etc.

This still happens, but it is so intermittent that it is maddening.

Any ideas?
